Day 1: Delhi Arrival and Sightseeing
Upon arrival in Delhi airport after passing through customs and immigration, you will be met your representative/chauffeur from Alishba Holidays and taken to the hotel for check in.
You will be visiting both old and New Delhi. You will visit largest mosque of India, Jama Masjid built in 1650 and from the mosque glimpse of Red Fort can be had.
You will visit Raj Ghat where mortal remains of Mahatma Gandhi were cremated and the mausoleum of second Mughal emperor Humayun dating back 16th century, the first example of Persian style garden tomb and forerunner of world famous Taj Mahal.
You will drive past India gate built to commemorate sacrifice of Indian soldiers in World War I and will be driving past Parliament House and Rashtrapati Bhawan or President House which used to be the Viceroy’s house during British.
Later, after lunch break at local restaurant (not included) visit iconic Qutub Minar, the largest tower construction of world in bricks dating back 12th century A.D.
After breakfast, our guide will meet you in the hotel lobby and you will be taken for a full day sightseeing of Delhi. Delhi is one of the most ancient and historical city of India and capital city too.
Day 2: Fly from Delhi to Amritsar and Sightseeing
Fly from Delhi to Amritsar, upon arrival check in to the hotel.
This morning, you will enjoy sightseeing tour of Amritsar city also the capital of Sikh religion.
After having your breakfast, you will visit Jallianwala Bagh, a public garden which houses a memorial of National importance established in 1951 by the government of India.
Visit Durgiana Temple also known as the Laxmi Narayana Temple, derived its name from the Hindu Goddess Durga. Though a Hindu temple, its architecture is similar to the Golden Temple.
Afterwards, visit the famous Gurudwara (Sikh place of worship) Golden Temple also known as Sri Harmandir Sahib. It is the holiest Gurudwara and the most important pilgrimage site for Sikhs.Here, you will also see a community kitchen providing free meals to the pilgrims and visitors every day.
Later, after lunch at a local restaurant (not included) you will visit the border town of Wagah famous for its Wagah Border ceremony, a daily military practice that the security forces of India and Pakistan jointly followed since 1959.
Day 3: Amritsar to Chandigarh (Half Day Sightseeing)
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Chandigarh, capital of the Northern Indian states of Punjab and Haryana.
Upon arrival in Chandigarh, check in to the Hotel.
Enjoy local half day sightseeing.
You will visit Rock Garden,the famous sculpture garden of Chandigarh also known as Nek Chand's Rock Garden.
Later you will visit Sukhna Lake, which is the reservoir in the foothills of the Himalayas.
Overnight in Hotel.
Day 4: Chandigarh to Shimla
After breakfast, leave Chandigarh for Shimla, the capital of northern state of Himachal Pradesh in the Himalayan foothills.
Upon arrival in Shimla, check in to the hotel and rest.
Later, you will have a sightseeing tour of Mall Road the main street in Shimla, constructed during the British colonial rule. It is located a level below the ridge (the most recognizable part of the hill station).
The offices of municipal corporation, fire services, and police headquarters are located here. Automobiles, except emergency vehicles are not allowed on this road.The last viceroy here was Lord Mountbatten.
Continue to your walk, you will see the Scandal Point where the Mall Road joins Ridge Road on the west side.You will also see the Christ Church the second oldest church in Northern India.
Day 5: Himalayan Queen Train
Today, you will abroad the Himalayan Queen Express for an unforgettable train journey along the UNESCO-listed Kalka-Shimla railway. You'll travel through spectacular scenery as this narrow gauge train winds its way through the lower Himalayas.
You'll continue by road up to the Tara Devi temple where you can enjoy incredible panoramic views surrounded with lofty Himalayas.
Day 6: Shimla to DelhiAfter breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Kalka Railway Station to board Shatabdi Express for four hour journey to Delhi.
